Resources

Many people living with cancer do not get everything they need from their healthcare team and look for additional supports, including through word of mouth and online searching. Finding these “extra” resources is often a matter of luck – leading some to miss out on things that may provide meaningful support.

The purpose of this page is to provide some extra help to those looking for supports by connecting them with resources that were found to be helpful by those that have “been there”.

This page will be home to a resource directory curated by the members of the Patient Engagement Steering Committee at CancerCare Manitoba – and we need your help making it a reality.

First – Dr. Thiessen, a researcher at CancerCare Manitoba/University of Manitoba, is conducting a research study to better understand how to design resources directories to assist those living with cancer in finding the supports they need. The findings from this study will be used to guide the development of this resource directory. For this study to be successful he needs to recruit patients (past and present), as well as their friends and family. To learn more about this study, including how you can participate, please click here.

Second – we need to know about the resources and service that you found helpful during your experience with cancer. The names and descriptions of the resources you share will contribute to our directory. To help us populate our directory, please share the details of the resources you found helpful with us using the form below and – if you are comfortable doing so – include your contact information so we can ask additional questions about your resource if we need to.
